- Aug 23, 2018 -

Gasket is a mechanical seal between two objects, usually used to prevent pressure, corrosion, and natural expansion and contraction of the pipeline leakage.Since machined surfaces cannot be perfect, using gaskets can fill up the irregularity.Gaskets are usually made of sheet materials such as paper, rubber, silicon rubber, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile rubber, glass fiber or plastic polymers (such as teflon).Gaskets for specific applications may contain asbestos.

The washer is a vulnerability (usually in the middle) to the thin sheet (usually circular) and is usually the load thread fastener for allocation.Other USES are as spacer, spring (belville spacer, wave spacer), wear pad, predisplay device, lock device.Rubber gaskets are also used in faucet (valve) to cut off the flow of liquid or gas.Rubber or silicon gasket can also be used to reduce fan vibration.Usually the outer diameter of the gasket is about twice the inner diameter.
